the concept behind it makes perfect sense, the colored part is hard plastic that does not "give", the greyish is soft like the crowns and will bend so it will easily let paint in, and zero come out

the guy filled it up and turned it upside down and shook it, not one ball fell through

from bobby french:

The new speed feed is a bi-material product...Unlike the Crowns, which use a simple flexy rubber, the Dye speed feed uses a multi use of material to prevent paint from coming back out, and at the same time, allow paint to easily flow into the loader....

Similar design to the crown, the Dye speed feed will have a rugged, harder outer plastic ring which will prevent the "teeth" of the speed feed from bending backwards, and down towards the end of the teeth, will be a softer rubber very much like the crown, allowing for a soft insert for the paint to go through...

The other very nice thing about the Dye speed feed for the Dye Rotor, is that the speed feed will sit 100% flush to the lip of the loader...It doesn't sit up any higher than the loader itself. No more getting shot in the back of the speed feed and paint shooting down into the loader. And finally, the way the speed feed sits in the loader, it gives the natural loading position, you dont have the tilt the pod forward or lift the pod up or anything goofy....Nice and comfy, normal load.

Yea, but the durability on'em suck. The hard plastic makes sense to a point. They're stiffer and more rigid, not giving a lot of room to bend to pressure on dive shocks. They'll give away after a month or two of regular play.
ALTHOUGH, they now have Crowns for the Rotor. They use the elastomers that is used on other crowns (for Magnas, VLocity's, etc.), making for a much longer lasting feeder. Comes in both the standard and ultra-soft elastomers. Standards are stiffer, allowing no paint to come out. Ultra-softs use a cushier elastomer. Might let one or two out, but in my experience, last longer.
Here's the info on it from Virtue Paintball themselves. See what they have to say.

Again, this is all in my own experience. Not downing or disputing the opinions of others.

Or you can get a Shaggy crown. They have even less durability but look just as sick and are cheap as all get out.
